Ray Township, MI Information

Travel - There are two main roads for north-south travel through the township; North ave near the eastern border and Romeo Plank near the western border. For east-west travel, there are mile roads starting with 26 Mile on the southern border and 32 Mile on the north border, both provide access to interstate freeway I-94 to the east. Many of the roads in the township remain gravel roads. Borders Washington Twp on the west, Macomb Twp on the south, Lenox Twp on the east, and Armada Twp on the north.

Shopping - Ray Township is primarily a rural community with not a lot of shopping within its borders. However, about 15-20 minutes away, just across M-59 you will find Partridge Creek a beautiful open-air shopping mall that offers 90 stores and restaurants located in Clinton Township. Just west of that you will find Lakeside Mall with almost 150 stores and restaurants including many anchor stores. There are also several strip malls, many large chains, and tons of restaurants along the Hall Road corridor.

Education - Ray Township consists of 4 school districts in the Macomb Intermediate School District- Romeo, Armada, New Haven and a small section of Utica. A short 15-20 minute drive, located in Clinton Township, you will find Macomb Community College where you can receive an associate's degree and thru Macomb University a bachelor's and master's degree.

Hospitals - About a 20-minute drive to the Beaumont medical center located on M 59. Just south in Clinton Township is Henry Ford Macomb Hospital which offers 435 beds, along with a heart center, cancer center, birthing center, and more. Also nearby is the Children's Hospital of Michigan Stilson Specialty Center for all types of pediatric specialties, along with several other large hospitals throughout Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.

Theater - Macomb Center for the Performing Arts sits on the south side of M -59 in Clinton Township and features various shows like the Letterman, Ann Margaret, Larry Gatlin, and the Gatlin Brothers, Lou Rawls, and The Temptations. On the grounds of Oakland University, you will find The Meadow Brook Theater which also offers high-quality entertainment.

Government - The Ray Twp Offices are located at 64255 Wolcott Rd. just north of 29 Mile Rd. The phone number is 586-749-5171. Trash service information including pick-up days, billing, yard waste, and more.

Extras - Ray Township is a rural, laid back community with not a lot of growth. Lots of open farmland and natural beauty. It is home to Wolcott Mill Metro Park. A few other sites to visit Macomb Orchard Trail, Stony Creek Metro Park, and several golf courses.
