Now Trending - Jam'rs Frozen Custard

Everybody loves ice cream but our favorite is Jam'rs Frozen Custard in Washington Township, MI. They are located at 58060 Van Dyke just north of 26 Mile on the east side of the street. Since they are located between our home and office we pass by daily and can't help but check out the flavor of the week. So far I think Honey Almond is my favorite!

Jam'rs Frozen Custard is a family owned business and they stay open almost all year. They offer picnic tables on the side and in back where it over looks the baseball fields. As you can see below the inside reminds you of an old soda shop. Besides the flavor of the week you can always get chocolate, vanilla or my favorite twist. Jam'rs Frozen Custard also offers

Check out the Macomb Township Parks & Rec Tons O’ Trucks & Wheeled Wonders on June 23rd! I have attended this event for several years now and my children have a blast! Last year it was recently moved to Seneca Middle School which allowed for better parking and the more to look at! It was a great change to an already great event! What better place to take any kid (or any kid at heart for that matter!) to be able to get up close and personal with some of the most amazing “Wheeled Wonders.”

Check out the Macomb Township website for more information. The following excerpt was taken directly from the Macomb Township Parks & Recreation Special Events Page: “Join us Saturday, June 23rd from 10:00am-1:00pm at Seneca Middle School located at 47200 Heydenreich

Where can I “release”? This week’s focus: SELL

Last week, I wrote about DONATING items that you have decided to release from our “Keep or Release BLOG”. Ok…if you don’t want to donate everything because some of the items have more value than the tax deduction….then you can SELL them! Different items that you have can be sold in different ways to a variety of places.

These are just a few:

  • Facebook: this has become a big place for people to sell their items. There are plenty of local area sell/swap pages that allow you to become a member. The pages or “groups” as they are referred to on Facebook, usually have specific items that you can sell on them, but there are groups in which you can sell virtually ANYTHING. Most of the groups have

Is a Condo Right for You?

Condo - Downsizing

Are you considering downsizing? Why not look into condo living… there are many positives aspects giving up the single-family residential living and move into a condominium community!

So what are these pros? Check them out below:

  1. Less Square Footage Equals Less Work

When you have fewer rooms to clean, it also means you have fewer items in those rooms. The smaller the space and the less "stuff" is a guaranteed way to have less “work” or chore time. Use the extra time that you gain from not having to slave away at vacuuming rooms you don't even use or dusting off those knick-knacks that occupy these areas to spend time doing things you enjoy! Chore time can often be cut in half when switching to condo living.

Now Trending - REVIVE Float Spa

Shop another local business in Macomb County: REVIVE Float Spa in Shelby Township! If you have never heard of a float spa, check out the REVIVE Float Spa website! It has a great deal of information on what the purpose and benefits are of a float spa. Here is just a little bit of information that we pulled from their website…..

“Float therapy is a luxurious escape from the constant stress of life’s daily pressures and a natural way to heal the body and mind.  When combined with the zero-gravity like environment, the floatation allows your body and mind to enter into its deepest state of relaxation.”

“The physical benefits of floatation are: faster muscle recovery, softens & replenishes skin, boosts circulation,

Tips & Tricks - Where can I “release”? This week’s focus: DONATE!

Last week I wrote about how to go through the process of deciding what to “Keep or Release” when organizing. Ok…so now what to do with all of that stuff you’ve decided to release? Well, fortunately you have options! It all depends on how much additional effort you want to put forth. There are a few different options for releasing your items: donate, swap, sell, recycle, or trash them. I do not recommend trashing them as an option, especially if the items are not broken or damaged. This week we are going to focus on donating. Why fill up our landfills any more than they already are, if you could take one extra step to donate them, give them a second life, or receive a tax benefit!

 Motivational Monday - SMART Goals

Goals

When setting goals, you need to identify short-term AND long-term goals. Make sure your goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time limited). Regardless of your goal, whether it is big, small, short-term, or long-term, it should meet the SMART criteria. Setting a SMART goal vastly increases the odds of accomplishing your goals. Encourage yourself to start with smaller, short-term goals but have one or two long-term goals as well. You want to be able to check off those little boxes as you are working toward the bigger picture! Don't forget to reward yourself along the way.

What are your goals? Are they SMART? Take a moment this week to reassess them to make sure!

Real Estate LicenseYou would think after 30 years of being a full-time real estate professional the dreaded “Are you still in real estate” question wouldn't come up yet it does. Each time I hear it I bite my tongue, smile and say “yes I am.” The truth is this is how we make a living it's not a hobby or part-time gig, and we’re not “in” it. In fact, most professionals will tell you they live, eat and breathe real estate.

So the question is why do people think we’re “in” real estate? It could be that some get “in” the business part-time to make extra money. There are some who retire from a profession or job and got “in” our business for something to do. There are others that take the class, get a license and say they’re “in” real estate but have never sold a home.
